Race #3 – Theodore Wirth

September 26–27, 2026 · 2026 MCA Season · Race #3 of 5

Race #3 was a split-venue weekend for the 2026 MCA season, with half the field racing at Gamehaven in Rochester and the other half at Theodore Wirth Park right in the heart of the Twin Cities. RAC MTB’s D2 riders headed to Theodore Wirth, where tight singletrack weaves through mixed hardwood forest on the eastern edge of the park. It’s a technical, punchy course with plenty of short climbs and fast descents, and a spectator-friendly layout that brought out a great crowd.

Unfortunately, Sunday’s high school races at Theodore Wirth were cancelled due to rain — a tough break for our HS riders who had put in the training and made the trip. It’s always disappointing when the weather has other plans, but our middle schoolers brought the energy on Saturday and gave us plenty to cheer about. We’re proud of how the whole team handled a tough weekend and we’re already looking forward to finishing strong at States.
